Smith & Nephew AlgiSite M Calcium Alginate Dressing, Square
The Smith & Nephew AlgiSite M Calcium Alginate Dressing is a soft, highly absorbent wound dressing designed for moderate to heavily exuding wounds. Made from calcium alginate fibers, it transforms into a soft, cohesive gel upon contact with wound exudate, creating a moist healing environment while protecting delicate new tissue from trauma during dressing changes.
This square-shaped alginate dressing is soft and conformable, allowing it to be molded, folded, or trimmed to fit a variety of wound shapes and depths. As the fibers gel, they maintain intimate contact with the wound bed, supporting effective fluid management and reducing the risk of maceration to surrounding skin. Advanced fiber bonding technology also helps minimize fiber shedding compared to standard alginate dressings.
Because AlgiSite M can absorb up to 13 times its own weight in exudate, it can often remain in place for up to seven days depending on wound condition and drainage volume, helping to reduce the frequency of dressing changes and support patient comfort. This calcium alginate dressing is available in 2" x 2" and 4" x 4" square sizes—simply select your preferred size above to match your wound care needs.
Trusted by clinicians and caregivers alike, AlgiSite M is a reliable choice for exudate management in surgical wounds, pressure injuries, and other moderate to highly draining wounds.
