Lift-to-call 911 • Emergency listening • Line-powered
Lift the handset. FIRST dials 911.
The FIRST by TAFEA Emergency Auto Dialer makes calling straightforward: lift the handset and the phone automatically dials its stored number. 911 is programmed by default, so you do not need to enter digits or press a dialing button.
Practical features for everyday readiness
- H.E.L.P. emergency listening: During an active call, microphone sensitivity increases if the handset is dropped or left dangling, helping the answering party hear activity near the phone.
- Recordable announcement: Record a message with useful information, such as the phone's location, following the included instructions.
- Loud / Super-Loud volume control: Adjust listening volume for the user and setting.
- Ricochet handset cord: A durable coiled cord connects the handset to the phone.
- Desk or wall placement: Position the phone where it is easy to reach. Wall mount sold separately.
- Line-powered operation: No phone batteries or separate phone power adapter required.

Frequently asked questions
Does FIRST come programmed to call 911?
Yes. 911 is the default stored number. Connect FIRST to compatible, active telephone service; lifting the handset places the call.
Can it call a family member or caregiver instead?
Yes. FIRST stores one primary number, which can be changed to a family member, caregiver or another contact using the included instructions.
Will FIRST call several numbers in sequence?
FIRST is a single-number auto-dial phone. It calls the stored primary number when the handset is lifted. If you want separate buttons for different contacts, choose FIRST-M.
What telephone service do I need?
Use an active analog telephone line or a compatible analog telephone port. If your service uses a cable modem, fiber terminal, PBX or VoIP adapter, confirm analog-port compatibility and emergency-call routing with your provider.
Will it work during a power outage?
The phone itself is powered by the telephone line and does not need batteries or a separate electrical outlet. It can work during an outage only while the connected telephone service or analog port remains active. Cable, fiber, PBX and VoIP adapters may depend on electricity or backup power.
Does it require an app or monitoring subscription?
FIRST does not require an app or a Med-Pat monitoring subscription. You still need compatible active telephone service, which may have its own provider charges.
Optional programming is available from Med-Pat Solutions for an additional charge if you would like us to set your preferred number.
Connection and emergency-call routing depend on your telephone service and installation. Follow the included instructions and your provider's procedures to verify the completed setup.
