Vitalograph Bacterial/Viral Filter, MIR Spirometer
The Vitalograph Bacterial/Viral Filter (BVF™) is designed for use with MIR spirometer systems to help protect patients and clinicians during pulmonary function testing. Positioned in-line between the patient and the spirometer, this filter is built to support both inspiratory and expiratory spirometry testing while helping reduce the risk of cross infection between patients.
A key feature of this filter is its low effective dead space of just 65ml, which meets the requirements for accurate lung volume and DLCO (diffusing capacity) testing. This low dead space design helps ensure that test results remain reliable and clinically meaningful, even when the filter is added to the breathing circuit.
Patient comfort is also addressed through the filter's mouthpiece, which is designed to be comfortable for extended use during testing sessions. Whether used in a hospital, pulmonary function lab, or clinic setting, the bacterial/viral filter is a practical addition to infection control protocols for spirometry testing with compatible MIR devices.
