Coated on both sides with transparent silicone, this contact layer sits directly against the wound and helps prevent the dressing from sticking to delicate healing tissue. Because it is designed to minimize adherence, dressing changes tend to be more comfortable and less disruptive to new granulation tissue. Its transparency lets you monitor the wound, and its low profile allows exudate to pass through into a secondary absorbent dressing placed on top.
