Cotton cloth that permits your body to cool itself when heat builds up, since fresh air can circulate freely and moisture can evaporate, eliminating the main causes of diaper rash, which is caused by the lack of air circulation. You will notice with each additional washing and drying that the diapers begin to fluff and quilt up. This is what gives the product the softness and even more absorbency providing ideal protection for heavy to complete loss of bladder control. Do expect 10% shrinkage of the diapers after several washes. Our adult cloth diapers must be worn with waterproof plastic pants (to prevent leakage) we recommend Gary® full seated vinyl plastic pants for this purpose. Diaper rash is the most common skin problem found in adult incontinent sufferers. Typically, skin can appear irritated, swollen, red, and scaly. In some severe cases, the skin can blister and crack. So change your protection frequently to allow the skin to dry completely before using a clean or new diaper; this will help solve these problems. When your skin is irritated, avoid using wipes and instead wash with mild soap. Products containing zinc oxide, such as Destin, can help keep moisture away from your skin and protect it from irritants. However, avoid products such as fungal creams and talc powders.
